The challenges that await you
Under the authority of the immediate supervisor, you coordinate the review and implementation of certain construction projects submitted to the Urban Planning Department. You advise the department's management on land use planning (construction, architectural integration, zoning, etc.).
More specifically, you will be required to:
Analyze the compliance of site plans and architectural integration (PIIA), integrated projects, special projects, or others aimed at issuing permits while ensuring adherence to urban planning regulations (zoning, construction);
Meet with developers, contractors, or architects to inform them of the corrections needed in their plans and specifications regarding building safety, construction details, aesthetics, interior or exterior layout, etc.;
Guide individuals or groups (taxpayers) seeking information about architecture and zoning in Laval;
Participate in internal management meetings of the Department, providing all relevant information regarding your area of expertise and ensuring follow-up on decisions concerning your sector;
Participate in the development and implementation of comprehensive planning studies and land use planning, architectural proposals, the development of regulatory projects required to achieve municipal objectives in land use planning, and the revision of the land use plan and construction regulations.
The ideal profile for us
Bachelor's degree in urban planning or architecture / architectural sciences and a master's degree in architecture;
Member of the Order of Architects of Quebec;
Possess four (4) years of experience in the design or analysis of real estate development projects;
Experience in heritage considered an asset.
