Building Maintenance Coordinator

You will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the quality of maintenance and upkeep work performed by external companies for several buildings and grounds owned by the City.

You will participate in establishing orientations, objectives, and programs regarding your area of expertise and in developing the annual objectives of your field of intervention, based on the major orientations of the service. Additionally, you will need to establish and maintain exchange and support relationships with City partners and other external stakeholders.

More specifically, you will have to:

• Develop and create planning tools and indicators to coordinate and control the quality of work by various contractors for housekeeping, building maintenance (elevators, garage doors, mechanical barriers, air conditioning and heating systems, plumbing, electricity, window washing, etc.) and for the repair and maintenance of security fences for certain buildings and grounds;

• Conduct research, carry out studies and analyses, and develop reports in the field of prevention and intervention regarding building maintenance by identifying and proposing intervention axes while considering the specificities and issues of different services to support employees and users of the city's buildings;

• Plan maintenance schedules for buildings and grounds to ensure that various contractors are coordinated and that access to buildings by employees and citizens remains optimal;

• Plan annual inspections for intrusion and fire alarm systems, fire extinguishing systems, extinguishers, elevators, lifting systems, etc., and formulate appropriate recommendations regarding impacts and necessary changes.

• Hold a college diploma in a field related to building maintenance or any other relevant diploma for the position;
• Have four (4) years of relevant work experience for the position, particularly in managing large-scale external contracts for building maintenance;
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications;
• Knowledge of standards and codes governing building maintenance is an asset;
• Good knowledge of provincial and municipal standards regarding health and safety at work;
• Possess a valid class 5 driver's license.
