SCHEDULE: 33.75 hours per week, DAY; MONDAY to FRIDAY - 08:30 to 16:30

The challenges that await you

You will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the quality of maintenance and upkeep work performed by external companies for several buildings and grounds owned by the City.

You will participate in establishing guidelines, objectives, and programs related to your area of expertise and in developing annual objectives for your field of intervention, based on the major directions of the service. Additionally, you will need to establish and maintain exchange and support relationships with City partners and other external stakeholders.

More specifically, you will need to:

  • Develop and create planning tools and indicators to coordinate and control the quality of work from various contractors for housekeeping, building maintenance (elevators, garage doors, mechanical barriers, air conditioning and heating systems, plumbing, electricity, window washing, etc.) and for the repair and maintenance of security fences for certain buildings and grounds;

  • Conduct research, carry out studies and analyses, and develop reports in the field of prevention and intervention regarding building maintenance by identifying and proposing intervention areas while considering the specificities and issues of the different services to support employees and users of the city's buildings;

  • Plan maintenance schedules for buildings and grounds to ensure that various contractors are coordinated and that access to buildings by employees and citizens remains optimal;

  • Plan annual inspections for intrusion and fire alarm systems, fire extinguishing systems, extinguishers, elevators, lifting systems, etc., and formulate appropriate recommendations regarding impacts and necessary changes.

The ideal profile for us
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, urban planning, architecture, or any other field related to urban design;
  • Have four (4) years of experience in activities similar to those described above, particularly in urban design;
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications;
  • Knowledge of the standards and codes governing building maintenance is an asset;
  • Good knowledge of provincial and municipal standards regarding health and safety at work;
  • Possess a valid class 5 driver's license.
