Economic Advisor

Under the responsibility of the division head of planning & business intelligence, you assist and collaborate in the planning and coordination of the economic development strategy, the implementation of monitoring programs, as well as special projects or economic studies supporting business intelligence.

In this capacity, you are responsible for designing, conducting, or coordinating with both internal and external experts, sector analyses and various economic content to support the organization's activities, deepen the understanding of Laval's ecosystems, and feed the awareness exercises of various stakeholders and public authorities.

You ensure the writing and presentation of various economic content for both internal (e.g., notes to senior management, S&P report) and external (speeches, notes for dissemination to the ecosystem) purposes, as well as collaboration on the content of promotional tools. The overall actions will significantly contribute to achieving the service's objectives and its positioning within the Laval business community.

• Hold a master's degree in economics or any other relevant master's degree for the position;
• Have six (6) years of experience:
  • • Identify and analyze economic sectors with high potential for wealth creation;
    • Analyze value chains and economic interdependencies to identify development levers and vulnerabilities;
    • Analyze sectoral, economic, and financial risks, including barriers to entry, regulatory environment, and customer or supplier concentration;
    • Evaluate market dynamics, including competitive structure, market size and diversification, as well as the path to commercialization;
    • Ensure the management of strategic analysis projects, relying on innovative approaches and analytical tools to quickly and effectively capture, structure, and disseminate key information;
    • Support strategic decision-making regarding investment, prioritization of interventions, and deployment of fund capital and financial agreements.
• Good knowledge of Power BI or other data visualization platforms;
• Excellent command of French, both spoken and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
