Building Electrical Engineer

Are you an experienced building electrical engineer who is passionate about designing electrical plans and specifications for commercial buildings, high-end residential complexes or critical infrastructures such as data centers? If so, you've come to the right place! Our client, a renowned engineering consulting firm based in Montreal for over 25 years, is looking for a talented electrical engineer to join its expanding team, following the acquisition of new projects. This position offers the possibility of working remotely or in person, depending on your preferences.  

This is for prestigious projects in the commercial sector, 180-unit buildings, and state-owned companies. 
   
Tasks:  

  • Take care of project management, design of engineering documents, plans, specifications, addenda required for the completion of building projects, medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems, motor controls and protections, fire alarms, generators, ASSC and lighting systems, in compliance with established standards and in coordination with others disciplines; 
  • Participate in service offers with clients; 
  • Determine construction costs and quantities in accordance with standardized methods and established plans and specifications; 
  • Supervise and/or conduct site surveys 
  • Supervise and/or write reports on the status of work and contribute to the development of action plans including the management of contractors' extras;  
  • Review workshop drawings and end-of-work documents;  
  • Identify, analyze and validate customer needs;  
  • Ensure the conformity of the work performed.  

  

Ideal candidate:  

  • BAC in electrical engineering; 
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec; 
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the field of building electrical engineering consulting; 
  • Experience in medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems, motor controls and protections, alarms fire, generators, UPS and lighting systems; 
  • Experience in commercial, residential or data center projects; 
  • Good knowledge of current codes and standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code and the National Building Code;  
  • Proficiency in spoken and written French, bilingualism an asset; 
  • Have the ASP construction certificate; 
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite; 
  • Knowledge of Autocad; 
  • Knowledge of Revit, ETAP and AGI32 (an asset); 
  • Have a driver's license.

Conditions:  

  • Permanent full-time position. (37.5 hours);  
  • Telework, hybrid formula or in the office (depending on your choice); 
  • $90-115K+, to be discussed depending on experience and projects completed in the past;
