Professional Advisor - Architecture

Under the authority of the immediate supervisor, you coordinate the verification and implementation of certain construction projects submitted to the Urban Planning Department. You advise the Department's management on land use planning (construction, architectural integration, zoning, etc.).

More specifically, you will be required to:

• Analyze the compliance of site and architectural integration plans (PIIA), integrated projects, special projects, or others aimed at issuing permits while ensuring the application of urban planning regulations (zoning, construction);
• Meet with developers, contractors, or architects to inform them of the corrections needed in their plans and specifications regarding building safety, construction details, aesthetics, interior or exterior layout, etc.;
• Guide individuals or groups (taxpayers) wishing to receive information regarding architecture and zoning in Laval;
• Participate in internal management meetings of the Department, providing all relevant information regarding your area of expertise and ensuring follow-up on decisions concerning your sector;
• Participate in the development and realization of comprehensive planning studies and land use planning, architectural proposals, the development of regulatory projects required to achieve municipal objectives in land use planning, and the revision of the land use plan and construction regulations.

• Bachelor's degree in urban planning or architecture / architectural sciences and a master's degree in architecture;
• Member of the Ordre des architectes du Québec;
• Possess four (4) years of experience in the design or analysis of real estate development projects;
• Experience in heritage considered an asset.
