Job Summary :

The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager will lead the maintenance and operation of the District Energy Systems (DES), while supporting a safe work environment. The DES includes five thermal plants and the associated distribution network. In accordance with contractual obligations, the DES will produce and deliver chilled water, low temperature hot water and steam to a network of buildings, at established thermal water temperatures and required flow rates, through piping network meeting optimum energy efficiency.

Responsabilities :

  • Ensure adequate implementation and compliance of the various company and industry health & safety policies and procedures for all employees.
  • Implement and maintain preventive and corrective maintenance plans for all DES facility equipment currently under operation and any new facilities, according to manufacturers’ recommendations and contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders regarding many facets surrounding operations of thermal energy systems.
  • Review and analyze daily performance reports and ensure corrective and preventive actions are carried out as needed.
  • Provide all relevant details to DES General Manager & submit monthly operations and maintenance reports pertaining to cost analysis, for generated DES & facility efficiencies, for each location.
  • Improve energy efficiency of all DES & facilities plants, as per required contract specifications.
  • Help employees grow and develop new & various skills.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all inventory records.
  • Coordinate with all technical departments as needed, the various required activities related to heating & cooling water.
  • Planning and implementing small projects within his operations business
  • Carry out any other technical work or activities which may be delegated by the senior management and/or the client.
  • Prepare budgets for all designated DES and review O&M reports associated with the process.
  • Always maintain and in accordance to regulations and contract requirements, the required performance data records (preventive and corrective maintenance, breakdowns, opening & closing, and operational records).

Requirements :

  • 10 years of experience as a manager of a technical installation and/or facility in the energy sector;
  • BSc/BA in engineering/other technical degree required;
  • Good understating of industry stakeholders and forces that can influence;
  • Strong leadership capabilities to manage a dynamic team;
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) will be considered assets;
  • Familiarity with multifaceted technical and business operations;
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines;
  • Complex problem solving and abilities and effective decision-making.
