• Hold a diploma of vocational studies (DEP) in fire safety intervention;  
• Hold a college diploma (DEC) in fire safety techniques;  
• Possess a valid class 4A driver's license;  
• Possess a valid pleasure craft operator's license;  
• Hold an INU1 certification (Level 1 Emergency Nautical Responder), an asset.

• September 29 at 9 a.m. (duration of about 2 hours and 30 minutes): Virtual pre-selection inventory (psychometric test + test aimed at assessing basic technical knowledge of the firefighter profession)
• Week of October 19: Physical aptitude test in an aquatic environment
• November 10, 11, and 12: Physical aptitude and practical and technical skills tests
• End of November – December: Selection interview
• Pre-employment verification including:
  • • Verification of driver's license (class 4A and 5);
    • Verification of pleasure craft operator's license;
    • Verification of diplomas;
    • Medical examination (costs covered by the City);
    • Security clearance investigation.
