Salary: $200,000, depending on experience Sector: Industrial construction, infrastructure, and energy Travel: To be expected on various sites Location: Quebec City We are recruiting a Project Director for a Quebec company active in the execution of industrial and complex infrastructure projects. The mandate is aimed at someone who has a solid track record in construction project management and has reached a stage where their impact comes as much from their leadership as from their technical expertise. The project team is already in place and includes strong technical profiles. Management now wishes to add a senior manager capable of providing more guidance, structure, and leadership in operations while contributing to team development. Your role You will maintain an overview of several projects in parallel while staying close enough to operations to intervene when issues become more complex. On a daily basis, you will be called to: Lead the execution and monitoring of several large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects. Mentor and develop project managers to help them progress in autonomy, rigor, and decision-making capacity. Establish priorities and ensure clear communication between management, project teams, and job sites. Monitor project performance: costs, timelines, risks, contracts, changes, quality, and profitability. Intervene in complex files and assist teams in problem-solving and decision-making. Participate in execution strategies, resource planning, and anticipating operational needs. Maintain strong relationships with clients, professionals, partners, and subcontractors when management involvement is necessary. Take charge of a significant part of operations to strengthen decision-making, priority tracking, and team autonomy. What we are looking for Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management. Experience as a construction director, senior project director, or in a comparable role. Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, civil engineering, or a related field. Concrete experience on heavy industrial projects, civil engineering, or major infrastructure. Background with a general contractor or a contractor directly executing complex projects. Very good mastery of project management: budgets, timelines, contracts, risks, changes, and resources. Experience in mentoring project managers, superintendents, or other construction managers. Experience in the energy sector, electrical infrastructure, or on Hydro-Québec projects is an asset, but not mandatory. Why consider this role? Because it is not just about managing another project. The person who takes this position will have a direct influence on operations, team development, and how projects are executed. The role offers a lot of proximity to management and real leeway. For someone coming from a large general contractor who wishes to have more impact on decisions, the mandate can be particularly interesting. Shall we discuss? Even if you are not actively looking, it may be worth a conversation.
