NDT (END) Level III Inspector – Aerospace Sector

Job Description

The NDT (END) Level III inspector is responsible for ensuring that all aluminum cast products are inspected according to customer requirements and aerospace industry quality standards.
He/she assumes technical responsibility and has full authority over radiographic operations (film and digital) and supervises the certification of qualified NDT personnel (levels I and II).
This key position ensures process compliance, staff training, and the maintenance of NADCAP and customer certifications.

Main Responsibilities

Technical Supervision and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance of NDT operations with customer specifications, internal standards, and aerospace references.

  • Verify that all radiographic tools and equipment are calibrated, maintained, and approved for continuous production use.

  • Act as process owner for NDT operations, including translating and communicating customer requirements.

  • Develop and validate radiographic techniques and ensure review of drawings, plans, and specifications to confirm compliance.

Staff Supervision and Certification

  • Train, supervise, and evaluate NDT personnel of levels I and II.

  • Prepare, administer, and evaluate theoretical and practical exams for NDT operators.

  • Provide clear guidelines, product acceptance criteria, and ongoing technical support to staff.

  • Regularly audit staff performance and ensure compliance with daily practices.

Quality, Audits, and Continuous Improvement

  • Actively participate in the preparation and management of NADCAP, customer, and internal audits.

  • Identify and implement process improvements, corrective actions, and quality performance measures.

  • Ensure traceability and complete documentation of all NDT operations.

  • Collaborate closely with quality assurance, production, and engineering departments to maintain standards of excellence.

Desired Profile

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in materials engineering, mechanics, physics, or related field (preferred).

Experience and Skills:

  • NDT Level III certification (according to NAS 410 or equivalent).

  • Strong experience in industrial radiography (film and digital).

  • In-depth knowledge of NADCAP procedures and aerospace standards.

  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and certify NDT personnel.

  • Analytical mindset, technical rigor, and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
