Job Description

Site Coordinator

Location: South Shore of Montreal
Job Type: Full-time
Sector: Construction | Building | Multi-family and Institutional
Salary: $80,000 to $110,000 depending on experience

Job Summary

Do you have solid experience in construction, are you recognized for your technical judgment, and do you enjoy solving issues directly on-site?

We are looking for a site coordinator to join a well-established Quebec company, active in the execution of residential, multi-family, and institutional projects.

Unlike a traditional superintendent or site management role, this position is primarily a technical reference role. You will be present on-site to support subcontractors, answer technical questions, ensure the application of proper construction methods, and maintain high-quality standards.

Your role will also involve inspecting completed work, identifying non-conformities, recommending appropriate corrections, and contributing to the continuous improvement of practices across all projects.

The position involves regular travel within Quebec and occasionally to Ontario. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to stay close to the field, apply their expertise to support teams, and play a concrete role in the quality of project execution.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support on multiple sites simultaneously
  • Answer technical questions from contractors and subcontractors
  • Clarify construction methods and execution sequences
  • Verify the quality of completed work and its compliance with plans and specifications
  • Identify non-conformities and ensure follow-up on corrections
  • Conduct regular inspections on-site
  • Support and train subcontractors to ensure uniformity in work methods
  • Participate in the evaluation and development of field partners
  • Collaborate on the continuous improvement of practices and quality standards
  • Participate in certain work estimates when required
  • Verify certain elements related to logistics and material compliance before use
  • Write follow-up reports and communicate issues to various stakeholders

Desired Profile

The desired profile:

  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in construction
  • Significant experience on construction sites
  • Good ability to read and interpret technical plans
  • Excellent understanding of construction methods and sequences
  • Good knowledge of the Building Code
  • Experience in quality control, supervision, or site coordination
  • Mobilizing leadership and excellent field credibility
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously
  • Autonomy, rigor, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingualism in French/English is an asset

On a human level, we are looking for someone recognized for their technical credibility, judgment, and ability to establish trusting relationships with various stakeholders on-site. You know how to intervene tactfully, enforce quality standards, and guide teams towards best practices.

The role will particularly suit a superintendent, site coordinator, foreman, or construction professional who wishes to apply their technical expertise more towards quality, team support, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment

This role is decidedly field-oriented.

You will operate in a dynamic environment where each day is different. You will visit several sites to support subcontractors, resolve technical issues, ensure compliance with quality standards, and contribute to the success of projects.

You will not be responsible for managing the daily operations of the sites. Your role will rather be to act as a technical expert, ensure uniformity in work methods, and support various stakeholders to continuously elevate the quality of completed projects.

Benefits

  • Salary between $80,000 and $110,000, depending on experience
  • Vehicle provided
  • Travel, meal, and accommodation expenses reimbursed during trips
  • 4 weeks of vacation upon hiring
  • Group insurance after 3 months
  • RRSP / DPSP with employer contribution
  • Dynamic work environment and varied projects
  • Well-established Quebec company
  • Collaborative team focused on continuous improvement
  • Opportunity to have a concrete impact on the quality of completed projects
