Quality manager

The reason for this position

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the position holder ensures customer satisfaction and compliance with government regulations, the SQF standard and all certifications desired by the company through the rigorous application of quality and hygiene management . It contributes to the promotion of quality within related departments. He ensures the proper functioning of the quality department and acts as a bridge with the R&D department.

The main relationships

  • He works in close collaboration with the factory director, and all the managers of the different sectors.
  • He exercises functional authority over the laboratory team leader and the HACCP and SQF manager.
  • He is an active and proactive member of the management and production team.
  • He directs, supports and advises all of his staff in order to promote the achievement of objectives.

Description of functions

  • Achieve all the objectives entrusted to it, among others by the administration.
  • Manage the operating and investment budget of the quality department.
  • Ensures product quality at each stage of the process by implementing an optimal inspection plan. If there is a discrepancy between the specifications and the product, he suggests adjustments and requests corrective actions, ensures that they are implemented and effective and contributes to them.
  • Communicate with all staff and support the necessary training in order to continually improve the quality of the company's products and services.
  • Manage the staff of his department.
  • Contribute to the search for causes and corrective actions, in partnership with other members of the quality and industrial team. It also generates trend analyzes of the measured parameters and keeps the quality system alive.
  • Contribute to the promotion of quality among production, maintenance and technical teams through the implementation and monitoring of relevant indicators.
  • Carry out investigations following customer complaints (internet, dairy counter, businesses and institutions) and initiate requests for corrective action when necessary.
  • Participate in quality improvement plans to support production teams.
  • Provide factory assistance in the event of a quality incident or request for support from the production team.
  • Make complaints to raw material suppliers, subcontractors and warehouses as well as follow-ups.
  • Make the quality link with the contractual companies (co-packer) and customer
  • Approve packaging
  • Ensure the operation of the HACCP and SQF systems in the absence of the HACCP and SQF manager

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in food processing.
  • (5) years of experience in a similar position.
  • Creativity.
  • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Good command of computer software.
