General labourer (night shift)

Under the supervision of the Production Coordinator/Supervisor, the incumbent in this position is responsible for handling the customer's steel parts before and after galvanizing.

Responsibilities

Hanging:
• Organize your workspace according to the parts to be handled.
• Frequently handle parts weighing between 5 lbs and 50 lbs.
• Unpack the material the customer has brought.
• Visualize the different parts to be hung and choose the best method for hanging them.
• Select the hardware for hanging the parts, such as: bolts, chains, combs, etc.

Unhooking:
• Organize your workspace according to the parts to be handled.
• Unhooking the parts, either removing the chains or cutting the pins that attach the steel parts.
• Frequently handling parts weighing between 5 lbs and 50 lbs.
• Choosing the finishing equipment for the parts: grinder, files, different zinc paints.
• Touching up material that has quality defects.
• Stacking galvanized parts on pallets, in barrels or on trailers.
• Packing the parts for shipment to the customer.

Requirements

• Having knowledge of the different tools used (grinder, pliers, file, etc.)
•    Be in good physical shape.
•    Be able to work on the ground, or on ladders to finish parts.
•    Ability to work 8 hours standing up.
•    Teamwork skills.
•    Ability to handle and move parts ranging from 5 to 50 lbs.

Conditions: salary and hours

• Salary: $23.71/hour (starting)
• Night shift premium: $2.00/hour
• Number of hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: Night 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
