Knife tooling technician

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect knife tooling products directly at our customers;
  • Ensure the maintenance of a good relationship with the client;
  • Make a report of the situation with a list of recommendations;
  • Explain the problem to the customer and provide a solution, including possible need for internal parts sales;
  • Project management: follow up with customers and the internal sales department;
  • Ensure regular follow-ups with customers who will join our new service plan, including chip quality control, component verification and adjustment.
  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical equipment and systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues
  • Install, assemble, and disassemble mechanical components and systems
  • Use power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment to complete repairs and installations
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements:

  • Be available to travel around the United States (mainly in the South).
  • Ability to complete a report and use Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in the sawmill field will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate leadership, initiative and autonomy.
  • Enjoy contact with customers and aims customer satisfaction.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when necessary.
