Press Brake Operator

JOB SUMMARY

As a press brake operator, you will be primarily responsible for die and punch adjustment. You will bend metal parts using a VICLA press brake and do the quality control of the bends.

DAILY TASKS

• Interpret plans and adjust die and punch according to specifications.
• Perform set-up on our VICLA press brake.
• Fold metal parts (steel and aluminum) with precision using our VICLA press brake.
• Perform quality control checks on bends using measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.).
• Collaborate with team members to optimize bending processes.
• Observe and follow safety rules and keep your work area clean and safe.
• Any other related tasks.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Education: DEP (Diploma of vocational studies) in a relevant field such as precision sheet metal work.
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating press brakes in the steel/aluminum industry.
• Ability to read/interpret plans.
• Capicity to make precise adjustments.
• Knowledge of metric and imperial systems.
• Experience with laser machines is an asset.
