Job Description

Reporting to the Procurement Director, the Planner-Buyer is responsible for planning the needs of raw materials, packaging, and other essential production inputs, as well as the efficient scheduling of manufacturing operations in our dairy plant.

Working closely with production, quality, engineering, and suppliers, they ensure optimal material flow while respecting production, quality, and cost constraints.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out production planning and daily scheduling of manufacturing lines based on forecasts, customer orders, and available inventories.
  • Analyze production capacity, anticipate needs, and propose solutions. Adjustments to the production plan.
  • Manage purchase orders for raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and other supplies required for production.
  • Follow up on supplier orders: delivery times, quantities, and product compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with the production, quality, and logistics departments to ensure deadlines are met and finished product availability is maintained.
  • Monitor performance indicators related to procurement, inventory, and scheduling efficiency.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to optimize procurement and planning processes.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in planning and/or scheduling in a dairy or food processing plant (an asset)
  • Training in operations management, administration, industrial engineering, or a related discipline (an asset).
  • Very good understanding of dairy manufacturing processes and perishable inventory management.
  • Proficiency with Office software (Excel)
  • Excellent organizational, priority management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sense of initiative, autonomy, and rigor.
  • Strong communication skills and team spirit.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) an asset.
