Strategic Planner/ Production Project Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, you will play a key role in transforming our planning practices. Your mission: to lead process reengineering, implement innovative solutions, and maximize the use of our ERP to move from manual planning to an integrated and computerized approach. You will also be responsible for coaching the existing team and establishing best practices to improve the efficiency and accuracy of plans. This strategic role requires leadership, vision and the ability to manage change in a dynamic evolving environment.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Process reengineering: Lead the transformation of production planning methods to optimize performance.
  • Analysis and improvement: Evaluate existing processes, propose and implement innovative solutions to reduce costs, improve accuracy and minimize production interruptions.
  • ERP deployment: Structure and implement the use of the ERP module dedicated to production in order to automate planning and maximize efficiency.
  • Schedule Management: Accurately forecast order delivery dates and ensure that the schedule meets established objectives.
  • Coordination: Organize and participate in planning meetings and ensure proactive communication with stakeholders.
  • Team coaching: Support and develop the skills of the two planners currently in place.
  • Monitoring Indicators: Produce reports and track performance to support decision-making.
  • Operational Planning: Plan and track daily and weekly production based on orders, sales, and factory capacity.
  • Scheduling: Launch work orders and ensure that they are regularly updated.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels with the purchasing team to avoid production stoppages.
  • Plan adjustments: Adapt schedules and resources according to unforeseen events and inform the relevant people.
  • Other Duties: Perform any other related duties as determined by his/her supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Education: College diploma (DEC) or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in production planning in a manufacturing company.
  • Experience in optimization projects and ERP module deployment.
  • Collaborative leadership: Ability to engage stakeholders, listen and take ideas into account to move projects forward.
  • Change Management: Ability to influence and foster buy-in in a context of transformation.
  • Results-orientated: Ability to work in project mode, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Organizational skills: Autonomy, proactivity, flexibility and effective decision-making.
  • Technologies: Proficiency in ERP (Epicor, an asset), Excel, Outlook and CMMS.
  • Spoken and written languages: Advanced French and functional English. English is required to interact with interlocutors located outside of Quebec, including sales and customer service teams in North America.
  • Reading plans: Ability to read industrial drawings.
