As part of our continued growth and commitment to operational excellence, we are introducing a new role of Production Supervisor to help lead and support our multi-shift production operations. POSITION SUMMARY
Windmill Plastics is looking for a motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to lead production operations across all five shifts — day, evening, night, and weekends. As part of the company’s management team, reporting directly to the Plant Director, you will ensure smooth and safe production processes, uphold quality standards, and foster a positive and accountable work environment.
In this role, you will provide direct leadership to Foremen and support the development and training of production teams. You’ll be involved in resolving operational challenges, coordinating shift activities, and promoting continuous improvement initiatives to drive the plant’s overall success.

SCHEDULE AND AVAILABILITY

  • Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Mandatory flex time: One evening or weekend shift per week (on a rotating basis - touch every shift once a month minimum)
  • On-call availability is required for emergency response and foreman support
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours and be present on other shifts when needed


CORE RESPONSABILITIES

  • Lead Production Operations: Manage and oversee production activities across all five shifts to ensure schedules, safety standards, and company procedures are consistently met.
  • Support and Develop Foremen: Act as the primary support and escalation point for Foremen, providing hands-on technical assistance and guidance to help troubleshoot and resolve production issues as well as all personnel management issues.
  • Shift Coordination and Transition Meetings: Organize and coordinate Foremen schedules to guarantee sufficient coverage, and lead transition meetings between shifts to ensure effective communication and continuity.
  • Training and Team Development: Implement and manage training programs for Foremen and production staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Safety and Compliance: Promote and enforce health and safety policies, conduct regular floor inspections, and ensure corrective actions are promptly implemented.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor product quality across all shifts, collaborate with relevant departments to address issues, and support continuous quality improvements.
  • Inventory, Material Handling & Remill Activities: Collaborate with the Transportation and Warehouse Supervisor to manage efficient material staging, remill operations, inventory monitoring, and equipment maintenance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve production processes, safety, and equipment efficiency; encourage employee suggestions and support cross-department initiatives.
  • Communication and Reporting: Maintain clear and timely communication with the Plant Director and upper management regarding production performance, challenges, and improvements.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALITIES

Technical Skills

  • Training in operations management or any other related field is an asset; equivalent experience will be considered.
  •  Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in production management and team leadership; multi-shift leadership preferred.
  • Hands-on approach with machinery – mechanical aptitude considered an asset.
  •  Experience in plastic injection moulding is a strong asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English is required.
  •  Comfortable with technology and demonstrates ease in learning new systems and tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  •  Experience with ERP or production planning software is an asset.
