Buyer - Intermediate Level

Role

As a Buyer within our team, you will play a key role in purchasing management in a manufacturing company to ensure an efficient and strategic supply of raw materials, accessories and equipment for production, mechanical parts for maintenance, and services. This position is aimed at professionals with approximately 3 to 5 years of experience (in a direct purchasing position) who are eager to bring new ideas and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the purchasing department.

Responsibilities

• Identify new sources of supply and analyze market trends to optimize purchasing strategies.
• Participate in negotiations with suppliers to ensure competitive terms. advantageous.
• Manage orders and inventories while ensuring smooth communication with internal teams.
• Evaluate and improve purchasing processes in collaboration with management.
• Maintain an up-to-date supplier database and monitor their performance.
• Demonstrate calm and professionalism in the face of challenges and unforeseen events, whether from clients or internal teams.
• Respect and apply the purchasing department's internal policies and procedures.

Required profile

• A procurement technician (DEC) or related diploma from the Quebec Ministry of Education.
• 3-5 years of experience in a purchasing role in an industrial or manufacturing context. (required)
• Skills in negotiating with suppliers, analytical mindset to find new suppliers, and the ability to propose innovative solutions.
• Positive and calm attitude, able to effectively manage stressful situations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
• Proficiency in purchasing and inventory management tools.
• Interest in teamwork and contributing to a collaborative and stimulating work environment.
• Valid driver's license issued by the SAAQ.
