The City of Laval is bustling with activity and its territory is undergoing significant development. The Legal Affairs Department proudly handles all legal matters for the City. As a lawyer, you will represent the City before all common and administrative courts and will act, upon request, as legal advisor to the City’s services.

  • Review submitted requests by examining procedures and documents (i.e. investigation reports) related to criminal offenses as well as violations of municipal regulations and certain laws of the Quebec legislature;

  • Argue before the Municipal Court and potentially before appellate jurisdictions.

The ideal profile for us
  • Be a member in good standing of the Quebec Bar for at least six (6) years;
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in law;
  • Relevant experience as a lawyer, particularly in representation before courts and dispute resolution in criminal, penal, statutory, and regulatory matters;
  • Possess excellent legal acumen;
  • Be skilled in expressing and writing clearly, concisely, and precisely;
  • Be dynamic and able to work under pressure;
  • Be a team player.
The benefits of being part of our team
