STATUS: Permanent full-time positions, permanent part-time positions, and on-call positions

SALARY: Class 2 – $22.41/hour

SCHEDULE:

  • Permanent full-time positions: 33 hours per week on variable schedules
  • Permanent part-time positions: 15 hours per week on variable schedules
  • On-call positions (reservists): Up to 40 hours per week depending on your availability (no guarantee of hours)

The challenges that await you

As a loan clerk, you will help make the library welcoming and a vital living space for citizens. You will perform various tasks including loans and returns of documents, shelving volumes, subscriptions, and you will ensure to inform citizens about various topics related to the library, including opening hours, activity schedules, addresses of other libraries, etc.

The ideal profile for us
  • Completed secondary school diploma (DES);
  • One (1) year of relevant experience in customer service requiring direct contact with the public;
  • An interest in literature and general culture;
  • A perfect command of French, both spoken and written, and a functional mastery of the English language in spoken form (an asset);
  • Comfortable with computers and new technologies, including digital reading devices;
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a good team player;
  • Able to work under pressure, respond adequately to unforeseen situations, and demonstrate great adaptability.
