Job Description: We are looking for a methodical and organized CPA, capable of handling the production and review of financial files, supporting employees in preparing files and actively participating in the firm's development. This role is essential to ensure the transition with the previous owner and support the future growth of the company.
Tasks
- Prepare year-end files (review mission);
- Prepare, review, and finalize year-end files (Financial Statements, T2).
- Trusts (T3);
- Prepare and review personal income taxes (T1);
- Ensure compliance with tax returns and other accounting obligations.
- Prepare payroll;
- Control year-end entries;
- Support the preparation of various reports; taxes, DAS, CCQ, termination of employment, T4/RL1, T5;
- Provide technical and professional support to employees responsible for bookkeeping and file preparation. Maintain and monitor the progress of bookkeeping files (full accounting cycle);
- Collaborate with the former owner and the company president to ensure an effective skills transfer;
- Contribute to the optimization of accounting processes and the firm's technological transition.
- Process invoicing and manage customer accounts;
- Process accounts payable;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Skills
The successful candidate is meticulous, methodical, and trustworthy. The candidate is accustomed to working with precise deadlines and standards. The candidate must also communicate fluently with both colleagues and clients.
Required profile:
- CPA designation required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting firm;
- Significant experience in accounting and tax production, including the preparation of T2, CO-17, and financial statements.
- Demonstrated ability to support a team and answer technical questions.
- Experience in a business transfer or rapid growth context, an asset.
- Comfortable with accounting software: DT Gestion, Profile, GEF, Sage 50, QBO (an asset if proficient in several of these tools).
- Experience with technological transition projects is an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills, rigor, and a structured work method.
- Ability to work in a team and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a college diploma in administrative techniques – accounting option;
- Knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel);
- Ability to work in a team;
- Interest in customer service;

- Team Management : Ability to supervise assistants, accounting technicians, interns, and junior staff. Also able to support the recruitment process.
