Brief Description

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior financial analyst will be responsible for, among other things, to create reports, dashboards and various analysis while validating the accuracy of the data to support the business. This analytical role will also require the analyst to build and maintain reporting and procedures per the best practices.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the daily accounting and full accounting cycle
  • Produce consolidated reporting for multiple divisions with different currencies
  • Prepare high-quality periodic financial reports and analyses, balance sheet documentation/reconciliation, and ad hoc analyses
  • Coordinate and validate various accounting operations, such as the recording and reconciliation of intercos and other strategic expenses related to the company’s operations
  • Review the GL to ensure accuracy and create reports showing details summaries of transactions
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures and ensure that all internal controls and procedures are in place and effective
  • Create a dashboard of daily activities to support the company operations
  • Provide insight and validation regarding various financial data to the management team
  • Any other tasks or special projects as required

 

Required Qualifications

Training

  • Undergraduate finance or accounting degree
  • CPA Accounting designation (an asset)

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial analysis
  • Experience working in a multi-company and multi-currency
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment (an important asset)
  • ERP implementation experience (an asset)

Key Competencies

  • Knowledge of the full accounting cycle
  • Great understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong in reporting and analysis
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (an asset)
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Bilingualism (an asset)
