Site superintendent in industrial and construction

Your responsibilities:

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling project operations in an industrial and construction environment. Ensure the management of the work as well as the supervision of various projects such as the following industrial, pharmaceutical, agri-food and bioindustrial fields.

  • Assist in operational coordination between professionals, subcontractors and the client in order to respect a project schedule and budget;
  • Provide direct supervision of the site, coordination and direction of teams in the field to ensure the efficient completion of work in accordance with plans and specifications
  • Plan mobilization and manage site conditions
  • Carry out quantity readings and check the quality of the work carried out in order to confirm the conformity of the installation. Validate monthly billings from subcontractors
  • Ensures quality control and health and safety by implementing procedures and carrying out regular inspections.
  • Under the supervision of the Project Director, you will collaborate closely with the various teams in the field, contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure the success of the projects.
  • Monitoring construction, including: shop drawings, meetings and site visits, change notices, budget monitoring, schedule, final deficiencies as well as start-up and commissioning; li>
  • Estimate the costs of various change orders.
  • Lead coordination and site monitoring between the various subcontractors and stakeholders;
  • Plan the 3-week schedule
  • Assist the project manager in issuing weekly and monthly reports
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and correction of problems on the site;
  • Quickly identifies and resolves issues on the job site, providing effective solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Establish and maintain the necessary communications with subcontractors, professionals and the client

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in the construction field as a superintendent
  • Mastery of IT tools for budget and schedule monitoring – MS Project
  • Experience in engineering-consulting management an asset;
  • Determines a driving license
  • Know the laws, regulations, codes and standards related to the fields of activity.
  • Have a car and be mobile in the Montreal, South Shore and North Shore region

Qualities sought:

  • Excellent management, negotiation and problem-solving skills,
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly
  • Knowledge of Procore an asset
  • Autonomy, rigor and sense of organization
  • Technical know-how.
  • Demonstrate communication skills (written and verbal), good judgment, a sense of responsibility, a great capacity for analysis, synthesis and decision-making, demonstrate leadership, creativity and have skills in control and supervision.
