Accounting Technician

At Corbec, we pride ourselves on being an industry leader and a trusted name in the steel manufacturing sector for 60 years. Our success is built on a strong foundation of integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our dynamic Finance team and contribute to our continued growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle: open new vendor accounts, receive purchase orders, and process all invoices and employee expense reports (review, entry, and payment).
  • Maintain up-to-date vendor records, reconcile vendor statements with the accounting system, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Oversee the full accounts receivable cycle: open new customer accounts, issue invoices, record daily payments, process credit notes, monitor customer balances, and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Keep customer records up to date, perform credit checks and limit reviews, reconcile customer payments with statements, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for vendor and customer inquiries, providing professional and timely support.
  • Reconcile month-end accounts payable and receivable balances with the general ledger.
  • Assist with audits and support additional tasks and projects as requested by the Finance department.

What You Bring

  • Bilingualism (French & English): Fluent communication skills in both languages are essential.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Education: A diploma in Accounting or Administration is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Sage 300 ERP, Salesforce, SAP Concur, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Adaptability: Ability to embrace new technologies and thrive in a changing environment.
  • Personal Traits: Self-motivated, discreet, detail-oriented, and a strong team player.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a focus on resolving issues and improving processes.

 Why Choose Corbec?

  • Permanent, full-time position with a 37.5-hour workweek and flexible start times.
  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy one work-from-home day per week.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Group insurance with 50% employer-paid premiums and an RRSP match program.
  • Convenient Amenities: Free on-site parking, gym access, and an on-site cafeteria.
  • Inclusive Environment: Casual dress code and a supportive, collaborative workplace culture.
