Conventional Machinist – Diesel Engines

Location: Edmonton, AB T6E 4Y5
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Job Description:

We are looking for a Conventional Machinist with experience in diesel engines to join our team in Edmonton. The ideal candidate will operate manual machine tools (such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders) to perform precision work on engine components. You will play a key role in maintaining and rebuilding diesel engine parts to high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual/conventional machining equipment to repair or manufacture diesel engine parts

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

  • Measure, mark, and inspect materials for accuracy

  • Perform precision machining on engine blocks, crankshafts, cylinder heads, and other components

  • Collaborate with mechanics and technicians during engine rebuilds

  • Ensure safety and quality procedures are followed at all times

Requirements:

  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required

  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience as a conventional machinist (experience with diesel engines is an asset)

  • Skills:

    • Proficient with manual lathes, mills, and grinders

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

    • Knowledge of diesel engine components is preferred
