Mechanical Engineer - Mechanical Assembly

Reporting to the Production and Mechanics Manager, you analyze technical documentation to establish the sequence of operations relating to mechanical assembly processes.

You determine the work procedures and equipment required based on the specific features of each part, customer requirements and applicable standards. In addition, you work on various projects aimed at developing, implementing or optimizing internal processes.

As a mechanical engineer, you may, among other things, be called upon to:

  • Analyze each project (quotes, drawings and documents provided by the client);
  • Analyze the time of the different assembly stages;
  • Determine the procedures to follow and the methods to use;
  • Produce work instruction documents used by production personnel in accordance with the established schedule;
  • Prepare and lead meetings to present work instructions and explain the specific characteristics of each project: tasks, priorities, requirements and potential technical difficulties, assembly sequences, equipment, etc.;
  • Create part disassembly and inspection procedures when it is a contract for repair;
  • Assess the condition of the part to be repaired as well as its components;
  • Write the inspection report provided to the customer;
  • Suggest different technical repair possibilities;
  • Design specific templates and assemblies taking into account the specificities of each part;
  • Provide technical support to production staff.

It takes what?

  • BAC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent);
  • Bilingualism (French, English) orally and in writing.

Asset:

  • Proficiency in Solid Edge 3D, AutoCAD 2D, or any other drawing software.
