Senior Controller

Our client, Windfall Mining Group, is currently looking for a Senior Controller.

For all SOX reports issued by internal and external audits:

  • Evaluate SOX report findings.
  • Assess the severity of reported audit deficiencies and inaccuracies (control deficiency, significant deficiency, material weakness).
  • Follow up with the help of operational process and control managers to ensure timely corrective actions for identified deficiencies.
  • Manage control owners in Canada to ensure the timely completion of controls and the retention of audit evidence.
  • Provide training and guidance to operational process and control managers on Sarbanes-Oxley-related matters or issues they may encounter.

Liaison and management of internal and external auditors:

  • Liaise with and manage internal and external auditors regarding audits of the internal control environment and resolve raised issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields;
  • CPA designation (an asset);
  • Master’s degree in internal control, risk management, accounting, or a similar governance-related field;
  • At least five years of experience in internal control, governance, risk management, or related areas;
  • Bilingual (French and English) – will need to interact with headquarters. French is the primary working language.
