Civil engineering technician

As a technician, your primary mandate will be to support and assist the company's project managers and directors in carrying out their projects. The very essence of your work will be to perform tasks associated with monitoring and coordinating work, from project start-up to completion. You will have the opportunity to contribute to various infrastructure projects for mandates awarded by cities, municipalities, and developers in Greater Montreal. Your level of coordination responsibility within a given project will vary depending on your skills.

Job Description

Monitoring Component:

  • Monitor work and ensure compliance with plans and specifications;
  • Coordinate work with various stakeholders, including visits to the materials quality control laboratory;
  • Liaise with the design team for any change requests during construction;
  • Measure completed works against plans and specifications, compile quantities, and prepare the documents required for payment requests;
  • Attend site and/or coordination meetings;
  • Write daily and photographic reports;
  • Write site memos and notices for contractors to ensure compliance with clauses contractual;
  • Prepare notes and drafts for the production of as-built plans;
  • Perform any other related tasks that may assist in the completion of the project.

Coordination Component:

  • Assist the project team in planning and coordinating activities arising from support mandates;
  • Conduct field surveys to obtain relevant information for the completion and monitoring of mandates;
  • Ensure ad hoc monitoring of the work of certain mandates (monitoring of monitoring carried out by third parties);
  • Write visit and photographic reports;
  • Attend site and/or coordination meetings;
  • Review requests for Payments.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • College Diploma (D.E.C.) in Civil Engineering;
  • Hold an ASP (Construction Site Health and Safety Course) certification;
  • Have at least one year of experience in the construction and/or civil engineering industry in Quebec;
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite;
    Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D software (an asset);
    Fluency in French, both spoken and written;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Autonomy and resourcefulness;
  • Have a car and a valid Quebec driver's license given the nature of the work. travel.
