Main Mandate:

The hormone therapy nurse plays a central role in the care of patients receiving hormone therapy, particularly in the context of gender transition, menopause, perimenopause, or endocrine disorders. She works closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure rigorous, safe, and personalized clinical follow-up.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health status and record relevant medical history.
• Adjust hormone dosages according to established protocols and individual needs.
• Provide clinical follow-up for patients undergoing hormone therapy.
• Offer educational and psychosocial support to patients regarding their treatment.
• Collaborate with physicians in the planning and adaptation of treatments.
• Document interventions and observations in medical records.
• Participate in the development and improvement of hormone therapy care protocols.
• Contribute to the continuing education of nursing staff on issues related to Hormone therapy.

Requirements:

• Must be a member in good standing of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ).
• Must have relevant training or experience in hormone therapy, endocrinology, or trans health.
• Proficiency in hormonal protocols and associated side effects.
• Skills in therapeutic education and patient support.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary work skills.
• Sensitivity to gender diversity and inclusion issues.
