Purchasing Director

Our client is a growing Quebec company.

The incumbent is responsible for developing and structuring the purchasing function in line with the organization's vision, mission, and values.

This strategic role covers the entire procurement process, from inventory management and supplier negotiations to financial impacts such as gross margin, cash flow, and cost optimization.

A true key player, you constantly seek to balance the best acquisition cost, an inventory level adapted to customer needs, and sound financial management.

The incumbent manages his or her budget, plans staffing needs and ensures the training and development of his or her team.

Main Responsibilities

Supplier Relations

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

  • Evaluate partner performance and manage Disputes.

  • Be on the lookout for innovations and offer new products.

  • Actively participate in strategic mergers and partnerships.

Financial Management

  • Optimize gross margin through negotiation and supplier discounts.

  • Develop the selling price structure in collaboration with other departments.

  • Monitor and forecast inventory levels to support cash flow management.

  • Meet and achieve departmental performance indicators.

  • Manage the budget and ensure the department's profitability.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain the product and supplier database.

  • Implement optimized procurement methods

  • Improve inventory turnover and service levels.

  • Develop strategies to dispose of surpluses and reduce stockouts.

  • Propose product equivalences and ensure continuity of supply.

Leadership and Vision

  • Actively contribute to the implementation of the company's vision and mission.

  • Collaborate with sales and other departments to anticipate customer needs.

  • Train and support the team to achieve established objectives.
