Maintenance Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Director, the Maintenance Supervisor coordinates daily operations, manages technical staff, and follows up on interventions. As a resource person in the field, he or she acts with thoroughness, flexibility and leadership to respond to emergencies, optimize equipment reliability, and support the development of his or her team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work organization and day-to-day management

  • Planning interventions: Distribute maintenance tasks taking into account unforeseen events and last-minute adjustments.
  • Operational responsiveness: Monitor tasks and manage emergencies.
  • Field inspection and validation: Perform daily floor rounds, lockout and task audits to ensure compliance, safety and quality of work performed.
  • Urgent purchases: Make and track purchases of parts and tools.
  • Communication: Actively participate in daily and weekly meetings with management, ensuring the transfer of information between shifts.
  • Subcontractor coordination: Follow up on work permits, purchase orders, and OHS compliance.

Supervision and management of personnel

  • Technical supervision: Logistical and technical support for the maintenance team in the field.
  • Manage staff and maintain a healthy and positive work environment.
  • Discipline and rigor: Enforce regulations and company values and intervene in cases of non-compliance.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Participate in the selection and onboarding of new employees.

Training and technical development

  • Be a reference in the field: Guide mechanics, support interventions and propose concrete solutions.
  • Coaching for reliability: Encourage autonomy and a preventative maintenance approach focused on equipment reliability.
  • Raise machine safety awareness and monitor training.
  • Control and manage equipment-related documentation, work orders, and maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Five (5) years of experience in industrial maintenance with two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Education: DEP in electromechanics or DEP in industrial mechanics or College diploma in mechanical engineering. Any combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Technical knowledge: mechanical, electrical, pneumatics and hydraulics. Knowledge of robotics or programming is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle to travel between our factories and buildings in the industrial park in Laval.
  • Computer knowledge: Microsoft Office suite, CMMS, ERP or other similar systems.
  • Languages : Advanced French and functional English. Functional English is required to contact suppliers outside Quebec.
